Bu 16-bit kenar tetiklemeli D-tipi flip-flop, 0,8-V ila 2,7-V VCC'de çalışır, ancak özellikle 1,65-V ila 1,95-V VCC çalışması için tasarlanmıştır.
SN74AUC16374 özellikle arabellek kayıtları, G/Ç bağlantı noktaları, çift yönlü veri yolu sürücüleri ve çalışma kayıtları için uygundur.İki adet 8 bitlik parmak arası terlik veya bir adet 16 bitlik parmak arası terlik olarak kullanılabilir.Saat (CLK) girişinin pozitif geçişinde, flip-flop'un Q çıkışları, veri (D) girişlerinde ayarlanan mantık seviyelerini alır.
Sekiz çıkışı normal mantık durumuna (yüksek veya düşük mantık seviyeleri) veya yüksek empedans durumuna yerleştirmek için arabelleğe alınmış bir çıkış etkinleştirme (OE) girişi kullanılabilir.Yüksek empedans durumunda, çıkışlar bus hatlarını önemli ölçüde yüklemez veya sürmez.Yüksek empedans durumu ve artırılmış sürücü, veri yolu hatlarını arabirim veya çekme bileşenleri olmadan çalıştırma yeteneği sağlar.
OE, mandalın dahili işlemlerini etkilemez.Çıkışlar yüksek empedans durumundayken eski veriler tutulabilir veya yeni veriler girilebilir.
Güç açma veya kapatma sırasında yüksek empedans durumunu sağlamak için OE, bir çekme direnci aracılığıyla VCC'ye bağlanmalıdır;direncin minimum değeri, sürücünün akım kesme kapasitesi ile belirlenir.
Bu cihaz, Ioff kullanan kısmi güç kapatma uygulamaları için tam olarak belirtilmiştir.Ioff devresi, çıkışları devre dışı bırakarak, güç kapatıldığında cihazdan akımın geri akışının zarar görmesini önler.
